1910	-	Siemens begins its business in the Philipppines with the medical business under the Reiniger Company.
1960s	-	Siemens supplies transmission and power distribution equipment, including a 230 kV substation, in Sucat, Paranaque.
1977	-	The company implements the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company’s (PLDT) Expansion 4 (X-4) program, which made use of the EWSA switching technology.
1982	-	Siemens installs the first Optical Fiber Link in the Philippines for PLDT.
1985	-	Electronic Telephone Systems, Inc. (ETSI), a Siemens joint venture company, begins manufacturing 25,000 telephone instruments for PLDT. This figure increased to 400,000 sets the next year.
1988	-	Siemens is awarded the X-5 project for PLDT. The project called for the installation of 130,000 line units where the digital electronic switching system EWSD was introduced, and which marked the beginning of the digital era for Philippine telecommunications. The project implementation of this contract the following year was the first time Siemens installed an outside plant project on a turnkey basis.
1989	-	Digitization of PLDT’s backbone routes from Northern Luzon via Manila to Cebu and to Davao and Zamboanga in the south of Mindanao.
1992	-	Siemens AG enters into a joint venture with a local partner and established Siemens, Inc., to handle Public Communication Networks (OEN), Private Communication Systems (PN), and Automation (AUT). A branch office was opened in Cebu.
1993	-	The Central Board of Siemens AG approves the 100% ownership of Siemens, Inc. Siemens supplies advanced EWSP packet switching equipment to PLDT and becomes a major supplier of PABXs to the members of the Philippine Association for Private Telecommunication Companies (PAPTELCO).
1994	-	The buy-out local shareholders took effect and Siemens, Inc. becomes a wholly-owned Siemens AG Subsidiary.
1996	-	The Memorandum of Understanding for the Sta. Rita Power Plant Project for two blocks of 495 MW combined cycle power plant of the First Gas Philippine Holdings (Lopez Group and British Gas) is signed during Chancellor Helmut Kohl’s visit to Manila. This represents the biggest contract awarded to a German firm in the Philippines.
1997	-	Installation of PLDT’s Digital Fiber Optic Network project. Siemens completes a 2,600 km submarine fiber optic cable network which will enhance PLDT’s nationwide telecommunications backbone. Four major contracts are closed under the ADB-KfW financed projects of the National Power Corporation, mainly for the Northern Luzon Extra High Voltage (EHV) /Transmission/Substation projects. Siemens undertakes the refurbishing and technical upgrading of existing power stations, such as the Sucat and Malaya thermal plants in Metro Manila. Siemens’ Power Transmission and Distribution group supplies transmission and power distribution equipment, including a 230 kV substation, in Sucat, Paranaque. The company embarks on rehabilitation work on the Salcon Power Project in Naga, Cebu, including the supply and installation of switchgear, medium voltage motors and a power control center. Siemens inaugurates a business branch office in Lanang, Davao City, to serve its customers and partners in Mindanao. Siemens Medical Systems, Inc., delivers and installs 1.5 Tesla VISION MRI system to Cardinal Santos Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center. This makes the Cardinal Santos MRI Center the only facility to have the most sophisticated MRI system in the Philippines.
1998	-	Establishment of Siemens Power Operations, Inc., an independent Siemens entity to engage in the operation, maintenance, service (including user training) and repair of power plants for generation of electric power and to engage in the importation of raw materials, components, and spare parts for power plants. In response to market changes, Siemens undertakes a reorganization of its telecommunications and information businesses. Its Public Communication Networks and Private Communication Systems business groups, as well as Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems, Inc., are reorganized into one new division – Information and Communication. The Siemens Nixdorf brand, however, will continue to be used for self-service products and point-of-sales / retail solutions. Electronic Telephone Systems, Inc. is renamed as ETSI Technologies, Inc. SiemensAG’s acquisition of Electrowatt of Switzerland results in a new Siemens company in the Philippines: Trans-Asia (Philippines), Inc., Electrowatt’s local partner, becomes Siemens Building Technologies Philippines, Inc.
1999	-	Siemens wins an order from the Batangas Energy Corporation of Manila for the turnkey construction of its San Lorenzo 500 MW combined-cycle power plant in Batangas. Siemens successfully introduces its call center technology as it wins a contract to provide a call center for the Bank of the Philippine Islands, the largest bank in the Philippines. Siemens has over 700 seats in call centers that range from airlines to service organizations and financial institutions. Siemens wins contracts to install POS systems at SM Supermarket stores nationwide. It also wins a pilot project contract with the Ever Group of Companies for Supermarket stores and department stores. SM and Ever are two of the biggest retail chains in the Philippines. ETSI Technologies Philippines, Inc. is awarded an ISO 9001 Certification for its Outside Plant division and the rest of its business units. Siemens Medical Systems, Inc. (SMSI) wins contracts with the Makati Medical Center, for the delivery of a Polystar T.O.P. System and the new TransScan TS 2000 equipment which aid in the early diagnosis of breast cancer. The East Avenue Medical Center also awards a contract to SMSI for the supply of a Magnetom Open VIVA MRI system. This is currently the only open MRI system in the country. OSRAM AG, together with local establishes OSRAM Philippines Limited Corp. as its subsidiary in the Philipppines.
2000	-	Siemens Inc.’s Power Transmission and Distribution Group wins a contract from the National Power Corporation (Napocor) to provide, install, test and commission all the 230 kilovolt (kV) and 500 kV equipment for Schedule III of the Ilijan Associated 500 kV power project in July. This turnkey contract includes the provision of line protection and communication systems for the Dasmarinas, Tayabas and San Jose substations as well as the Ilijan Power Plant as part of the Batangas Natural Gas Generation Project. The mobile phone business grows by leaps and bounds in fiscal 2000, with Siemens moving up six places to become number four in this market. Around 155,000 mobile phone units were sold in fiscal 2000, compared to 10,000 units sold in the previous fiscal year. In the area of self-service products, Siemens introduced two new innovations for the banking industry: mobile automated teller machines (ATMs) and ATM machines that utilize the Cash Recycling System, or CRS. The United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) was the first bank in the Philippines to introduce the CRS solution, the major advantage of which was that deposited amounts could be immediately credited into customers’ accounts. In fiscal 2000 Siemens becomes a leading provider of busways and molded case circuit breakers. Siemens Sentron busways and breakers are being used in the following construction projects: PBCom Tower, a 55-storey building in Makati City; the Insular Life Corporate Tower, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, GMA Network, Inc., Philips Semiconductor, Automated Technologies Inc. and the Rizal Commercial Banking Center (RCBC) Plaza, which is regarded as the most prestigious commercial and office development in the Philippines. Siemens Medical Systems, Inc. (SMSI) breaks new ground with the installation of the new Modularis Uro Plus equipment at the Makati Medical Center. With this new system kidney stone patients receive a less expensive, non-invasive form of treatment known as extra-corporeal shockwave lithotripsy, or ESWL. The company also installs a SOMATOM Balance CT scan machine at the Medical City in Manila. With the new equipment, the hospital is now able to perform high performance diagnostic imaging for a wide range of clinical examinations, such as cerebral angiography, CT angiography of the carotid vessels, and CT angiography of the renal arteries.
2001	-	Siemens introduces its Advanced Multifunctional Operator Service System (ADMOSS), a state-of-the-art system that now provides quick and trouble-free connections to all subscribers of the Philippines Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT). Siemens also creates a seamless digital geographic landbase and facility map and centralized database for PLDT’s outside plant network for the whole country. The Map Conversion Service is dubbed the “Engineering Records Management System”. The Power Transmission and Distribution Group wins a contract from Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of a Distribution Automation System, which is expected to provide for greater ease of operation in Meralco’s distribution and sub-transmission networks.
2002	-	Siemens completes the construction of the First Gas power (FGP) Corp.’s San Lorenzo 500 MW combined-cycle power plant in Batangas. Siemens, Inc.’s Power Transmission and Distribution Group wins a contract to supply a transformer, substation, switchgear, power circuit breaker, and surge arresters to the San Fernando Electric Light and Power Company, Incorporated. This substation supplies power to commercial and industrial users in San Fernando, Pampanga, one of the country’s thriving commercial districts in the North. Siemens provides the Manila Doctors Hospital with the SOMATOM Volume Zoom, currently the world’s fastest CT scan system. Asia’s top cardiac research institution, the Philippine Heart Center, acquires the Siemens Acuson Sequoia Echocardiography Systems for its Non-Invasive Cardiac Laboratory. Siemens Automation and Drives wins a contract to build a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System for the Hydro Electric Development Corporation’s (Hedcor) Bineng 2 hydro electric power plant in Beckel, Benguet Province. The SCADA system prepares Hedcor plants for remote control and monitoring via TCP / IP and seamless connection and communication with other plants.
2003	-	Siemens had inaugurated the First Gas Power (FGP) Corp.'s San Lorenzo 500 MW combined-cycle power plant in Batangas. Siemens was awarded the Intelligent Internet Protocol Switch (IIPS) project by the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) to establish a networking platform that will enable the country’s flagship carrier to manage and deploy value-added services such as Tiered Internet Access, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), content streaming and other multi-media interactive services. The benefits of Siemens’ IP-based carrier solution will enable subscribers to choose the bandwidth they would like to use for downloading data. The system will also offer flexible rate plans to PLDT subscribers. Power Transmission and Distribution (PTD) Group closed three turnkey projects with state-owned National Power Corporation (Napocor) in Luzon; with Dagupan Power Corporation in Pangasinan; and with food and beverage conglomerate San Miguel Corporation (SMC) to fulfill increasing power demands of area consumers and enterprises. PTD also closed another Napocor project to reinforce and upgrade the existing Negros III-Panay III substation and line protection in the Visayas and to fully automate the substation with microprocessor-based control and telecommunications equipment systems. Enterprise Networks bagged a significant Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) project in Jollibee Foods Corporation, the Philippines’ largest fastfood chain establishment by the purchase of HiPath 3000 IP Gateway solution to seamlessly connect multipoint Jollibee offices and plants using TCP/IP. The installed system now links Jollibee’s multi-site heterogeneous communications platforms to reduce communication cost and at the same time increase staff productivity in terms of communications access, centralized management and call center applications. Information and Communication Mobile (ICM) continues to be a strong player in the Philippines’ local mobile phones market, with improved market share, market visibility and availability by introducing programs to stimulate dealers’ selling efforts. For self-service banking systems, Information Technology Products and Services (ITPS) won the Philippine National Bank (PNB) project to deliver and maintain 287 automated teller machines (ATMs) to be rolled out over the next three years. St. Luke’s Medical Center, one of the country’s leading modern hospitals, acquired leading diagnostic systems AXIOM Iconos R100 X-ray; MAMMOMAT mammography machine; ACUSON Sequoia ultrasound; ACUSON Aspen ultrasound; and UNITY Audiometer. Makati Medical Center is the first in the Philippines to have purchased the SOMATOM Sensation 16 system that performs an accurate CT scan for cardiac patients. Strong business from Automation and Drives (A&D) emanated from the sugar industry, led by the Central Azucarera de Don Pedro automation project, sale of motors and drive systems for their centrifuge basket upgrade projects. A&D provided automation system upgrades to San Miguel Corporation’s (SMC) Mandaue, Cebu Brewery from SIMATIC S5 to BRAUMAT Classic version 5.3. A&D also welcomed the integration of the Danfoss, Inc. Flow Division to strengthen its market position in process automation.
2004	-	Siemens, Inc. launched top+, the company-wide business excellence initiative, to focus on sales stimulation, increasing service visibility, and optimizing business processes. Siemens’ Information and Communications (I&C) has undertaken the full-turnkey project implementation of high-capacity Microwave Radio Systems for Globe Telecom and Digitel for the companies’ nationwide expansion of their respective networks to serve the growing number of mobile subscribers in far-flung provinces. ETSI was awarded a significant civil works project by Globe Telecom for its mobile networks expansion. I&C also received from Digitel its first order in the country for SURPASS HiT, the Siemens Multi-Service Provisioning Platform, for the cost-effective enhancement of Digitel’s mobile infrastructure for Sun Cellular. Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) won the Joint Terminal Bulk Inventory Management System project with the leading petrochemical companies, Caltex, Petron and Shell. A strategic achievement had also been made with Shell wherein Siemens circuit breakers will be the required standard for all future Shell gas stations. IT Products and Services (ITPS) won a significant frame agreement for 150 automated teller machines (ATM) with Allied Banking Corporation. These include the end-to-end implementation of ATMs’ value added services and features in alignment with the bank’s future systems. These include web-based ATMs, redesign of ATM screens, customer receipts with graphics, and ATM monitoring tools.
2005	-	Siemens Mobile Phone division was sold to BenQ. A building called the Siemens Hall was built in Casa San Miguel Zambales. The aim is to further share the knowledge of culture, music and the arts to the unfortunate children of farmers in Zambales. A&D secured SMC Yamamura and Shell Pandacan Projects and successfully launched ET products worth Php 20 million. ITPS had a Php7.6 million order of passbook printers. First CT and 2x-ray equipment sold by Siemens Medical Solutions via Medical One worth Php 13 million; and they sold Siemens 64 slice CT sold to MCM.
2006	-	Siemens acquire a new business in the field of IT call center – Siemens Business Services. ITPS closed a deal of supplying ATM machines to the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI). Siemens Medical Solutions equipped the University of Sto. Thomas Hospital - Benevidez Cancer Institute with Siemens state of the art equipment: Linac, Brachytheraphy, Siremobil Compac X-ray. Davao Doctor's Hospital inaugurated in March 2006 with the installation of Siemens Somatom 64CT. Siemens ITPS achieved 152 ATM units order from BPI. And they also installed interactive kiosks in SM Hypermarkets. Automation & Drives division of Siemens sealed a deal with Holcim : CEMAT Automation System and Gas Analyzer System for Davao Plant worth Php 71m and the Rui Verde Water Project worth Php 22m. 33 MVA transformer for Meralco were closed by Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution and secured 2nd substation SFELAPCO Project.
2007	-	Siemens added a new division under Industrial Solutions known as Siemens Water Technologies. A new company was born, Nokia Siemens Networks. Siemens Business Services name has been changed to Siemens IT Solutions & Services.
