Siemens in the Philippines has played a key part in the development of the country’s infrastructure for over 81 years. In fiscal 2007 (October 1, 2006 – September 30, 2007), Siemens in the Philippines generated sales of EUR 41,558,517 million. New orders totaled EUR 49,803,802 million. |

MEDICAL |
The Medical Solutions Group (Med) installed Somatom Sensation 64 scanners at Davao Doctors Hospital, Medical Center Manila, and the University of Santo Tomas Hospital. CT systems of the Emotion and Spirit class were installed in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Surigao Medical Center, Zamboanga de Sur Provincial Hospital, Gabriela Silang Hospital, Batangas Regional Hospital and Guam Radiology Consultants. Orders for Axiom Artis dFC cathlab systems were received from Davao Doctors Hospital, Chinese General Hospital, and Perpetual Help Medical Center. Orders for two Symbia S gamma cameras at Perpetual Help Medical Center, and E.Cam gamma camera systems from Philippine General Hospital and Capitol Medical Center were also received. Siemens' first PACS/RIS system was turned over at The Medical City. A second order from the Saint Luke's Extension Clinic was also booked. The MED Group supplied the Medical City with the country’s first digital mammography system, a Mammomat Novation DR. A second Novation DR was ordered by St. Luke's Medical Center. Orders for the Aristos line of digital radiography systems were received from Saint Luke's Medical Center consisting of four x-ray systems. Siemens also installed three Axiom Iconos R200 digital X-ray systems at The Medical City, Saint Lukes Medical Center, and Medical Center Manila. |

TRANSPORTATION |
Siemens Transportation Systems Rail Automation (TS RA) Division has successfully turn-over and move to the warranty phase the implementation of a new signaling system for the Light Rail Transit Line 1. The project aims at further expanding the current 27,000 passengers per hour per direction to 40,000 passengers per hour per direction with improved operational headway from 150 seconds to 112 seconds. Scope of supply includes on-board signaling, wayside signaling equipment, Interlocking, headway clocks and installation of a modern Operations Control Center (OCC) with projector located at the new building inside the LRT1 depot. The LRT1 will extend 6kms northward using the Siemens signaling system. Construction will start in 2008. |

POWER |
The Power Transmission & Distribution (PTD) group received an order from Manila Electric Company for the supply of 300MVA 230kV Power Transformer. The equipment will be delivered from Siemens KPT (Croatia). This unit is the first 300MVA transformer to be supplied by Siemens to MERALCO and will be used for the new Amadeo Substation scheduled to be energized in August 2008. The PTD group received an order from Manila Electric Company for the supply of 7 units 230kV Dead Tank Power Circuit Breaker with Single Pole Operation type SPS2-230-IPO. This is the first time for Siemens PTD USA (Jackson Factory) to design and manufacture such type of Circuit Breaker. MERALCO will use these equipment for the new Amadeo Substation scheduled to be energized in August 2008. The PTD group has received a contract from the National Transmission Corporation for the Upgrade of Remote Terminal Units (RTU) in the Mindanao Grid. Executed together with Siemens EMIS Singapore and Siemens EMA USA, the project will replace the old Supervisor Modules of the Siemens TG 5700 RTU with the new Station Managers II. Six units of Siemens PowerCC Mini SCADA Systems will also be supplied. The contract is partly turnkey with provisions for installation, testing and commissioning in two substations. |

Siemens gave birth to a new local business called Siemens Water technologies which is focused on servicing the waste water treatment of pharmaceutical businesses in the Philippines.
Siemens recently acquired the Singapore-based private limited Chemitreat Group to expand water treatment business in South East Asia. Chemitreat, a business that provides water treatment technologies and services in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, China and Philippines for more than 30 years, became a part of Siemens Water Technologies business unit. Chemitreat covers services from operations to maintenance for both industrial and municipal customers and holds technology expertise in key industrial applications including high purity water treatment. |
